Randize> Actually what i did is I slowly build up the shadows for this piece. As in. I painted and imagine the textures. I didn't think of the shadows first. Just the basic form without being too contrasty. After when i have build up roughy the look and base of the piece. I spend time on building up the form and the shadow. I added some very slight light glare too. Giving it a sense of depth. My usual work, I usually build it all at once. I'm basically trying to find a way so i can cotrol my painting better. :) Experiment. The only thing that is keeping my brain alive at the moment. Hope this helps.
